Had a blast participating in The Poster Posse’s passion project theme: SPACE.

(I LOVE SPACE!) I chose to commemorate my favorite cosmologist and the very best communicator of the cosmic perspective, Carl Sagan.

I think I've read all of his books (at the moment I'm reading his daughter Sasha's new book, also very good.). My poster is a nod to a few things Carl: the man himself who I deeply admire, his book & tv series "Cosmos", the Voyager missions (for which he was chair of the committee that created the gold record time capsules), and a nod to the Pale Blue Dot image of Earth which he famously described as "a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam"---the image was taken by Voyager 1 at Carl's suggestion. I included Saturn and Titan here as well, mostly because they look cool (haha!) but also because Carl was the first to correctly hypothesize that Titan has oceans.

I could gush all day about my admiration for Sagan and how prescient and relevant his books remain but I'll leave it at that. If you have some downtime, check out my favorite of his books: "The Demon Haunted World, Science as a Candle in The Dark."

In celebration of International Women’s Day, I’ve chosen to highlight Emma Watson because I think she is a worthy role model and admire the advocacy work she does for the UN Women’s HeForShe campaign which promotes gender equality.

“Both men and women should feel free to be sensitive. Both men and women should feel free to be strong…it is time that we all perceive gender on a spectrum not as two opposing sets of ideas.”-Emma Watson
